Connecting the Dongle

Naubat automatically detects compatible Bluetooth Low Energy diagnostic dongles that are within range and establishes communication when normal operating conditions are met. Before continuing, make sure you already have a compatible dongle. See Compatible Dongles. The dongle is connected to the vehicle OBD-II port, which uses a standardized 16-pin trapezoidal connector shape. This port is usually located below the steering wheel on the driver side, although location varies by model. If you do not find it immediately, an online search for your specific vehicle model usually provides the exact location. Image placeholder: OBD-II port shape and typical driver-side location. After the dongle is connected, its BLE name becomes visible in the app connection screen. Select the dongle from the list to start the app-to-dongle connection sequence. When vehicle conditions are active and communication starts, the app transitions to Collecting Data.
